Patchy rain and drizzle moving southwards across England and Wales, perhaps becoming slow moving across far southern areas. Elsewhere of dry weather with some bright or sunny intervals but with a few showers across Scotland. Mild still in the far south, cooler elsewhere. Highs 5C to 12C.

Tuesday 30/1/18
Residual patchy rain and drizzle is still expected across more southern areas of England and Wales. Elsewhere plenty of fine weather, after a chilly start, with some sunshine but then perhaps becoming more unsettled, from the west, later in the day with rain and showers developing more widely. Highs 4C to 10C.
 

Wednesday 31/1/18
Rather cold and unsettled weather is expected at the moment as low pressure approaches from the west or north-west to bring rain and showers across many areas, perhaps wintry on higher ground. Highs 3C to 8C.

Low pressure clears to the east as high pressure develops to the west of the British Isles signaling possible cold north or north-westerly winds on Thursday with sunshine and showers and these wintry across northern areas. Overnight frost possible, rather cold. Highs 3C to 7C.

Uncertainties, but potentially remaining rather cold and unsettled, especially in the north and east, perhaps drier and brighter further south and west, still rather windy across most areas. Highs 4C to 8C

Unsettled weather may well dominate across more northern and eastern areas, while drier further south and west. Rather cool, if not rather cold, especially in the wet and windy weather with winds often fresh or strong NW'ly. Highs 4C to 8C.
