Sunday 02/04/17
A ridge of high pressure builds across the country, bringing a fine day to all regions. Variable cloud but a good amount of bright sunshine. Winds will be light and variable, then freshening southerlies will develop in the far west later. High cloud will tend to thicken ahead of fronts moving in from the Atlantic. A cool start, with a touch of frost in rural areas. Highs 11 to 15C.

Monday 03/04/17
High pressure continues to influence south-eastern Britain, and gives another fine day for much of England & Wales. Sunshine turns hazy, then increasingly overcast from the west later. Fronts extend across Scotland & Ireland, bringing outbreaks of rain or drizzle, most persistent on western hills. Patchy rain reaches Irish Sea coasts later. Breezy in the north, light winds south. Highs 11 to 17C, warmest south-east.

Tuesday 04/04/17
A front passes east but weakens, leaving a zone of cloud and patchy drizzle for a time across central areas. High pressure is expected to rebuild from the west, and skies should brighten through the day. The north-west is likely to stay rather cloudy, but most places dry. Light winds, although a south-westerly breeze affects the far north. Fairly mild, highs 12 to 17C.

Wednesday 05/04/17
High pressure centred west of Britain should bring a settled spell of weather later in the week. Dry for most. Sunshine and broken cloud. Light west to north-westerly winds. Highs 12 to 16C.

Thursday 06/04/17
Remaining fair. The north-west mostly cloudy, perhaps a little rain in north-west Scotland. Sunny spells for much of the country. Light west to north-westerly winds. Chance of a slight frost overnight where skies are clear. Highs 11 to 16C.

Friday 07/04/17
Little change, although some uncertainty about where the high will be centred. Dry overall, with a good deal of sunshine. Light winds. Starting cool. Highs 11 to 15C.
