Risk of frost overnight

A west to north-westerly pattern will prevail over the next week to 10 days, bringing fairly cool conditions, plus a mix of sunshine and occasional showers - these most frequent in northern Britain. Frost is likely on some nights.

Thursday 13/04/17
High pressure lies to the south-west, whilst weak fronts move in from the Atlantic across northern Britain and Ireland. A fair day for many places, with variable cloud and some sunshine - generally best in the south. Thicker cloud toward the north-west, with patchy rain for western Scotland and perhaps Northern Ireland, although amounts small. Breezy in the north, light winds south. Highs 10 to 14C.

Good Friday 14/04/17
Fronts drift eastwards across northern Britain, bringing areas of showers or some persistent rain at times, mainly in western areas. Rather cloudy for all, best of any sunshine toward the south coast. Largely dry for the Midlands, much of Wales and southern England. A cool westerly breeze. Top temperatures 10 to 15C.
 

Saturday 15/04/17
A showery north-westerly pattern is likely, with low pressure centred over the North Sea. Showers most frequent for north-west Scotland - wintry over the Highlands, whilst showers should be generally more scattered for England & Wales, perhaps very few in the south. Spells of sunshine. A cool breeze, highs 9 to 15C.
 

Easter Sunday 16/04/17
High pressure tries to build from the south-west. A few showers are possible, but also plenty of dry weather with sunshine. Generally best in the west & south-west. A cool north-westerly breeze. A touch of frost at dawn. Highs 10 to 14C.

Monday 17/04/17
High pressure is expected to extend across southern Britain. Dry with sunshine for many. Risk of showers in the north & north-east. A fresh feel, highs 11 to 15C.

Tuesday 18/04/17
Fronts moving in from the north-west bring a risk of frequent showery rain for Scotland, whilst many places should remain dry. Starting cool. Highs 11 to 16C.
