Cloudy and damp in eastern areas of Scotland and England this morning. Snow will be affecting hills, with some more persistent snow affecting the Grampians. To the west it will be drier and brighter with some sunny spells here. However, chillier air in the east is going to be pushing back westwards bringing cloud through the Midlands and southern England together with some spots of drizzle and a few snow flurries on hills. Staying drier and brighter in western Wales, southwest England, western Scotland and much of Ireland. However, cloud and some patchy rain reaching western Ireland. Highs at 4 to 8C.


Wednesday Night
Snow showers affecting eastern coasts of England and Scotland through tonight. More persistent snow continues over the Grampians, although this should fade later in the night. Cloudier skies and drier to the west, again with a few snow flurries on the hills. Tending to be drier in western Wales and eastern Scotland as well as southwest and northwest England. Cloudier in western Ireland and the Hebrides with an odd shower here. Lows at 1 to -4C.


Thursday
High pressure is to the east of the country on Thursday with low pressure to the west. Cloudy skies and feeling colder for most. Snow showers continue on eastern coasts of England and Scotland. The Grampians again at risk of more persistent snow. A few snow flurries elsewhere through central and southern England, mostly on the hills. Tending to be drier in western areas. Some bright or sunny spells in southwest England, west Wales and western Scotland. Broken cloud for Ireland with some drizzle or patchy rain in the south and west. Highs near 2 to 5C.


Friday
A cold day on Friday with an easterly flow affecting the whole of the UK and Ireland. Snow showers continue to affect eastern coasts and hills. A few snow showers in central and southern England. Drier to the west and brighter here too with some bright or sunny spells. Rather cloudy in Ireland with some snow showers in the east. Highs at 1 to 4C.
