Morning Call - January 24, 2018
Wet and Windy
Mild

Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 24th January 2018
Duty forecaster: Matthew Hugo

Wet and windy, especially at first and mild, but cooler from the west later

Good morning,

A wet and windy start to the day, especially across Scotland with gales or severe gales here for a time this morning, but these easing as the morning progresses. A spell of wet and windy weather, with perhaps rather squally conditions is expected across England and Wales too, moving towards south-east England.

Wet and windy weather across SE England will clear through the afternoon and then most areas will see an improvement in the weather with a mixture of sunshine and showers, these most frequent across western areas. Still a breezy afternoon, but less windy than earlier in the day.

Showery conditions will dominate into the evening and overnight, especially across more northern and western and turning wintry on northern hills too. Remaining windy, especially in the north and west with local gales, especially over coasts and hills.
