Risk of frost at times

This week sees it becoming unsettled as colder air in the north sweeps south giving the beginning of the week a more wintry feel, especially in the north with snow on the hills. Expect some cold nights with a risk of a frost for many. Temperatures start to recover from Thursday.

Wednesday 26/04/17
Cold with a brisk north wind today. Expect plenty of showers to develop during the day. Some of these may be wintry over the hills of Scotland, northern England and Wales. Some sunshine will be found in between showers. Cold overnight with a frost in the north and in sheltered locations. Expect high of 7 to 9C.


Thursday 27/04/17
It remains chilly and breezy. Further showers are expected across many parts of Britain during the day. Some of these may be heavy. The showers soon fade early in the evening. A dry, cold night with a frost across England and Wales. Highs of 10 to 11C.

 
 
 


Friday 28/04/17
Milder for Friday and it becomes very windy with gales around the north western coasts. Rain spreads into Northern Ireland and northern and western Scotland. Expect scattered showers elsewhere. Gales to affect the north this evening and overnight with heavier rain likely across northern Britain and Wales overnight. Expect highs of 10 to 14C.
 


Saturday 29/04/17
Very windy with heavy rain for much of Britain in the morning. This lingers in the south in the afternoon with showers expected for the rest of the country. Showers persist round the coasts in the evening as the rain clears the south. Dry and breezy overnight. Highs of 9 to 11C.
 


Sunday 30/04/17
Showers across western parts of the country will tend to develop more widely across much of Britain. These will be interspersed with dry, sunnier spells. Rain spreads into the north west tonight but fair and dry elsewhere. Highs of 11 to 13C.

Monday 01/05/17
Rain across Scotland will clear away later in the day. For England and Wales it will be mainly dry with high pressure ridging in. A dry night to come with clear spells. Expect highs of 12 to 15C.
