Dry, clear and cold weather prevails across northern areas of Europe, generally more unsettled still in the south
On Saturday and high pressure continues to dominate across many central, eastern and northern areas of Europe bringing plenty of fine, sunny winter weather but also very cold here as well with some very low minimum temperatures still expected, especially across parts of Finland, down into Germany, Poland and also across many eastern areas of Europe in general. Low pressure is set to continue to dominate through much of the Med bringing rain and showers to Italy and also into more eastern areas of the Med, with rain across parts of Greece and surrounding countries. Some fine weather is expected across Iberia though, especially Spain, but with a weather front bringing some showery conditions, and cooler weather, into Portugal through the course of the day.
Into Sunday and, overall, not a great deal of change is expected with the weather, with low pressure, bringing showery conditions to much of Spain and Portugal, quite chilly as well across inland areas of Spain in particular. Unsettled weather also extends eastwards towards Italy and into Greece and surrounding countries with low pressure dominating bringing some rain and showers, perhaps with snow across the mountains of Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania. The dry and cold weather will continue across much of northern and eastern areas of Europe, with some particularly cold weather across Finland and Norway, also down into Poland as well and other eastern regions. Wetter and windier weather develops across the British Isles, from the north-west, through the day.
