Fair and dry much of Mediterranean, cloud and rain in west and north
High pressure across central and southern Europe brings plenty of dry weather across the continent. Hot across Iberia, reaching 35 to 38C for southern Spain & Portugal, although cooler toward the north-west. Risk of local thunderstorms around Biscay. Lots of sunshine for Italy, the Alps, Germany and central-eastern Europe. Thunderstorms for mainland Greece , Romania and Bulgaria, plus eastern Ukraine.
Very warm for south-western France, topping 30C. Sunshine giving way to thickening cloud, and thunderstorms are likely to break out across central France into the evening. Fairly cloudy around the North Sea. Showery for Scandinavia, with some longer periods of rain for central & southern Norway and Sweden, whilst a weakening band of rain pushes north into Finland. Strong winds easing. The far north stays dry and warm.
A fair day in Spain and a href="Portugal with plenty of warm sunshine. Staying fine and sunny in the Balearics as well as across Italy. Greece is going to be warm and sunny and it should be staying fair across much of Turkey, although thundery showers in the north.
A band of cloud and rain passing east through France with brighter and drier weather following from the west. Southern a href="France stays dry throughout the day. Rain passes into the Low Countries and affects much of Germany during the day. Poland is going to be dry with sunny spells. Staying dry in Hungary and Austria although rain in northern and western Switzerland.
Cloud and rain affecting southern Norway and a href="Denmark, the rain heavy at times. Scattered showers in the Baltic States with more persistent rain affecting Finland. Central and northern Sweden is going to be brighter with a few showers, although cloud and rain affecting the south. Central and northern Norway should be brighter with sunny spells here.
