Windy southern Baltic; showery Low Countries
Low pressure over Italy produces snow for the Alps, and bursts of rain for lowland areas of northern Italy. A strong Mistral wind. Heavy showers for the Balearics. Showery around Biscay, but much of France and Spain should see plenty of dry weather. Fair in Portugal. Around 15C for the Algarve and Andalucia.
Slack pressure influences south-eastern Europe, resulting in light winds and quiet weather. Some sunshine, but areas of cloud or low level fog possible. A few showers around coasts of Greece and Turkey.
A chilly westerly pattern influences northern Europe, with snow and hail showers affecting English Channel and North Sea coastlines. Scattered showers for Germany and Poland, but more frequent showers for Denmark. Low pressure over southern Scandinavia produces areas of snow for central and southern Sweden and Norway, plus winds up to gales force around coasts. The far north stays dry and very cold.
High pressure over southern Iberia brings a fair day to much of Spain and Portugal, although a front produces rain for northern areas. Low pressure over Italy and the Balkans, with areas of heavy rain, or snow in the mountains, this spreading into western Greece. The Greek islands and areas surrounding the Black Sea should stay dry. Some snow for the eastern Alps, Hungary and Slovakia. Dry and chilly for Poland, the Baltic states and Ukraine. High pressure is centred over western Russia producing very cold temperatures here.
A front moves into France from the west, bringing rain and possible snow over high ground. Germany and the Low Countries stay dry most of the day, then rain and snow arrives later. Winds strengthening. Slack low pressure over Scandinavia, with areas of snow spreading across Sweden, but Norway should be largely dry, but cold and frosty.
