Warm around the Baltic


Tuesday
Hot and dry across Iberia, with temperatures in southern Spain and Portugal reaching 37 to 40C. A strong Mistral wind for southern France, but the Riveria will be hot and dry. A few heavy showers for the spine of Italy, and also wet across the western Alps. Dry for the eastern Mediterranean, Greece and the Black Sea coastline, 32 to 37C. A broad area of low pressure over central & eastern Europe brings widespread cool and wet weather, with persistent rain for Germany and Poland, only 15 to 20C. Some thundery downpours for Romania and western Ukraine. Outbreaks of rain possible for northern France and the Low Countries. Breezy for the southern Baltic. Some showery rain for central Sweden and Norway, but much of Scandinavia will be dry, with high pressure centred toward the far north.


Wednesday
Another hot and dry for Spain and Portugal. The western Mediterranean will stay dry, with a brisk breeze. Fronts bring cloud and patchy rain to western France. Dry most of the day for the Low Countries. Staying unsettled across central Europe, with rain for southern Germany and the eastern Alps. Some thundery rain for the Balkans. Hot sunshine for Greece. Areas of thunderstorms possible for Ukraine and Belarus. A brighter day for Poland. Rain for the west coast of Norway. Dry and very warm around the Baltic, with highs topping 25C for northern Sweden and Finland.
