Somewhat drier, warm in the south later this week

Good morning one and all and I hope your day has started well.

Lots of showers again will develop across much of the United Kingdom. While these will be interspersed with some sunshine the showers will become heavier as we go through the morning and we may see more persistent rain into Cornwall before afternoon.

So most places will be seeing quite a lot of heavy showers during the afternoon and these will be locally with a risk of a rumble of thunder as well. Brief, dry sunny spells will develop in between the showers. For Cornwall and Northern Ireland expect longer spells of rain. Look for highs at 16 to 20C.

If your heading abroad this morning it's looking unsettled and cool for central and northern much of Europe.
