More showers, some heavy
Sunny spells in-between

Wednesday
Another showery day across the British Isles and Ireland on Wednesday. Low pressure is going to be centred over Scotland, with showery bands of cloud moving eastwards through all parts. The north and west of Scotland could have some thicker cloud, and this will be producing some prolonged outbreaks of rain here, a few of them heavy. For eastern and southern Scotland it should be drier with sunny spells, and just an odd heavy shower. Across Ireland it is going to be a windy day with heavy showers here, and a risk of thunderstorms. For England and Wales it will be staying windy with sunny spells and yet more showers to come, a few of them on the heavy side and tending to last throughout the day. A fairly cool day with tops of 16 to 20C.

Wednesday night
Heavy showers through this evening for northern and eastern parts of England. To the west it should slowly become drier as pressure builds. However, there is always a risk of a shower right the way through until the evening. A few showers too through Shetland and Orkney. Temperatures down to 7 to 10C.

Thursday
A better day on Thursday, at least for most of the country. A weak ridge of high pressure is going to be bringing a fair start to the day. It will be breezy through England and Wales, but some good spells of sunshine around as well. During the afternoon cloud is going to be increasing from the west and this will be bringing gales and rain through southern Ireland by lunchtime. The rain moving quickly into southwest England through the afternoon. Other parts should stay dry. Temperatures at 17 to 24C.

Friday
A wet night for most of England, Wales and Scotland. Once the low pressure system is into the North Sea on Friday morning, winds will turn around to the northwest, introducing showery conditions. There will be strong winds, especially in the south, with a mix of sunshine and showers. The heaviest of the showers always over western coasts of Scotland and the coasts of Ireland, together with western coasts of Wales. Tops near 15 to 21C.
