Fair spells early on, but an unsettled final third of the month
May has been a tricky month to try and pin down. Thoughts are that high pressure will keep trying to build north and west of the country, with a trough drifting into Europe. At times the westerly flow will be returning, troughs passing east and bringing more mixed conditions at times. The end of the month is more uncertain.
*28/5/16 - 3/6/16*
Low pressure tending to become a feature of the weather in this period. It will be bringing rain to many, turning to heavy showers. The showers could be thundery. Perhaps becoming drier later in the week.
*4/6/16 - 10/6/16*
Hints of conditions gradually improving.
Showers early in the week will gradually fade to allow for higher pressure to build. perhaps settling down into a drier period with some warm and sunny days.
*11/6/16 - 17/6/16*
Starting dry again as high pressure drifts east. This should give more more fine days.
Lower pressure will be erratically invading the west of the UK and Ireland bringing some rain, and this is likely to break eastwards through all places later in the week.
*18/6/16 - 24/6/16*
Conditions are expected to turn more unsettled during this week. A strengthening jet stream bringing some rain, some of it heavy. Most to the north and west and the risk of some windy days too. Feeling cooler this week.
