A cold start to the morning on Monday as a ridge of high pressure builds. This brings a dry and fair day for most of the UK and Ireland with some good spells of sunshine. Cloud is going to be increasing through western areas during the day, and this will be giving outbreaks of rain through Ireland which will turn heavier into the afternoon. The rain then affecting western coasts of England and Wales during the afternoon. Highs at 8 to 13C.
Low pressure will be to the west of Scotland on Tuesday with a front pushing rain and strong winds east through the whole of Ireland and the UK. Drier weather reaches Ireland on Tuesday afternoon, although the area of rain looks set to become stuck through Scotland, England and Wales. The rain may be heavy at times and we do need to watch for the risk of localised flooding. Drier weather should nudge into western Scotland. Highs at 10 to 12C with strong winds through many central and eastern parts.
Low pressure looks set to stay to the west of the country on Wednesday. Putting detail into the forecast is tricky at this stage, but it does appear that rain will be affecting western parts of the country, although eastern and southern areas will have drier weather with some brighter spells although always a fair amount of cloud. Highs at a milder 10 to 15C.
Low pressure drifts into Ireland through Thursday. Fronts surrounding the low will bring rain to northern and eastern Scotland as well as eastern Scotland, some heavy at times. Showery conditions follows elsewhere and the showers could be heavy at times. Highs at 11 to 14C.
Little change through Friday with low pressure remaining over Scotland. This brings another unsettled day with a mix of sunny spells, showers and some longer periods of rain, especially in the south and west. Eastern parts should have less rain. Highs at 11 to 15C with a risk of gales in the west.
Little change on Saturday with low pressure affecting western areas. This brings more disturbed weather with rain or showers and plenty of cloud. It will be windy too. Highs at 12 to 15C.
