Dry and very warm then turning fresher with some thundery rain at at the weekend

High pressure is going to be building this week bringing plenty of dry weather and warming temperatures too. However, thunderstorms could break out by the weekend with fresher weather returning from the west, although it will become drier once again. Indicatins are for a dry start to next week for most.

Thursday 25/5/17
The area of high pressure is going to be positioned over the UK on Thursday. This brings a dry day with plenty of sunshine. It is going to be very warm as well for many. Sea breezes form on coasts cooling things down here. Perhaps some low cloud drifting onto the coasts of southern Ireland. Highs near 22 to 27C.

Friday 26/5/17
High pressure drifts to the east on Friday. A south to southeasterly flow affects all areas. There will be good spells of sunshine, especially in the east and it will be dry too. Cloud affecting western areas of Ireland perhaps with a few thundery showers here by the evening. Highs at 23 to 27C.

Saturday 27/5/17
Lower pressure affecting western areas of the UK and Ireland. This is going to be bringing thundery bursts of rain, some heavy at times. Eastern parts of the country will be drier with hazy sunny spells and remaining warm and muggy. This area of rain passing east through the rest of the UK later in the day, drier weather following from the west. Highs at 23 to 27C but turning cooler from the west.

Sunday 28/5/17
A front clears east on Sunday morning taking some showers with it. High pressure then builds back from the west with drier conditions arriving. Becoming brighter too with sunny spells. Highs at a fresher 16 to 23C.

Monday 29/5/17
A ridge of high pressure persists through Monday. This should bring another afir day with good spells of sunshine. Some cloud and spots of rain may affect northwest Scotland as fronts pass to the north. Tops at 13 to 23C.

Tuesday 30/5/17
High pressure continues to affect most of the country through Tuesday. This brings fair conditions and sunny spells, although fronts may agin give cloud and rain in northern Scotland. Tops at 14 to 22C
