Higher risk of showers today

Good morning, It's going to be a different sort of day today as the fine and hot weather of the weekend gradually gives was to more unstable air moving in from the southwest. This unstable air shouldn't bring a wdespread area of rain, but it will allow some showers to develop.

The showers most likely to form through the Midlands and southwest England this morning, with some thicker cloud in Ireland bringing outbreaks of rain here. Byt this afternoon the threat of showers exists for much of England and Wales, althogh southern coasts will be remaining dry with sunshine here.

A few showers in Ireland too, with thicker cloud in northern Scotland bringing some outbreaks of rain as a cold front approaches.
