John: A batch of heavy, thundery showers moving up across southern and central parts of England towards the north with gales along the south coast. Look out for some torrential downpours of rain.

Simon: Amazing arc of rain passing east over the UK this morning, should clear east by early afternoon, but still wet in northern Scotland. Showers will be following from the west, these heavy on western and southern coasts and hills.

Simon: Rain now into Ireland and approaching Wales. A few spots forward of the main rain area, but it's tonight that we will see most of the wet stuff.

John: A cold start with a frost in many areas. A lot of sunshine to come today with just a few showers across the country in the afternoon, these of snow across northern Scotland.
