Unsettled in northern Europe with strong winds, some rain in the central Mediterranean
Heavy snow for the Alps into Monday evening and night as low pressure sits across the region, which will fade only slowly into the daytime. Showery rain for central Italy. A few showers around Biscay, otherwise much of France and Spain will be dry. Cool for northern Iberia, but warmer further south, highs 16C for southern Portugal.
Monday's storm system moves north-eastwards into the Baltic, bringing strong to gale force winds to northern Germany, Denmark and Poland. Rain followed by showers advances across north-central Europe into Scandinavia, turning into heavy snow for southern Sweden. This moves north into Finland through the day. Very cold but dry for much of Norway, staying widely below freezing by day, and bitterly cold overnight, into the minus teens Celsius. Blustery but mainly dry for eastern Europe. Staying fairly mild in the south-east, with plenty of sunshine for Greece, up to 17C.
Windy and wet across northern Spain on Wednesday. Dry and fine in central and southern Spain and Portugal. Fair for the Balearics with lots of sunshine. Some cloud and outbreaks of rain in central Italy. Greece and Turkey will be fine with lots of sunshine and dry throughout the day.
Wind and rain passing east through France and the Low Countries and well as much of Germany. Poland will become breezy but it should be dry with good spells of sunshine. Austria and Hungary will be dry with sunny spells. Cloud and rain affecting much of Switzerland.
Wind and rain in Denmark. Breezy for the Baltic States with sunny spells and scattered showers. Windy across Finland and dry here. Windy in southern Sweden and dry, but lighter winds and drier weather to the north. Cloud and rain in southern Norway but dry and cold to the north.
