Heavy rain for Spain

A cold but mainly dry, sunny day across England today. Lots of sunshine too will prevail across France after a frosty morning though some rain is expected in the far south. Heavy snow showers will affect western parts of Norway. Eastern Norway and much of Sweden will be bitterly cold but dry and bright while heavy snow falls across Finland, north west Russia and the Baltic States. Mainly dry across Belgium and Holland with just a few wintry showers. Heavier snow is likely across Denmark and the extreme north of Germany. The bulk of Germany should be very cold but dry. The same for Poland, Belarus and the Ukraine, dry here but highs remaining below zero. A lot of dry weather to come across the Balkans expect for some snow in eastern parts of Turkey. Severe frosts are to affect the region. Heavy falls of snow are forecast across the Alps today. Quite windy and unsettled across Iberia with outbreaks of heavy rain but dry across the Balearics. Rather cloudy and cold across Italy with some rain, sleet and wet snow.

It remains bitterly cold across much of mainland Europe. A band of snow tracks south into England today and later edge's into Belgium, Holland and the far north of France. Milder in the south of France with rain. A mainly dry day across Germany again with some sunshine while snow is in the forecast for Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. Heavy snow is likely today for the Baltic States, Belarus, eastern Poland and western Russia. A dry day to come across Romania and the Ukraine but very cold. Light snow is expected across Hungary with sleety rain and snow for the former Yugoslavia. A wet, cold day with rain for Greece but dry and mostly sunny for Turkey. Still some rain today for eastern Spain but for western Spain and Portugal it's drier and sunnier. Frequent heavy showers are expected across The Balearics into the central Mediterranean with rain for the northern half of Italy, dry and fine in the south. Scattered snow showers persist across Switzerland and Austria.
