Lots of warm sunshine across Europe
Today With a large scale area of high pressure dominating much of Europe most places will be settled and dry. Lots of sunshine will prevail across the United Kingdom across into the Low Counties, Holland, Germany and much of France. Just a few heavy showers will affect the French Alps and also Switzerland. Some heavy thundery showers may threaten the far south of Portugal and Spain but for much of Iberia it will be sunny, warm and dry. Fine as well across the Balearics while some heavy showers affect Italy. Lots of dry weather with plenty of sunshine will be found across the former Yugoslavia, Greece, Turkey, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria. This dry weather also is to prevail northward into Poland, Belarus, into Russia, Finland, the Baltic States into Sweden. Spells of rain will persist across the west of Norway.
Sunday Overall we expect little change with the weather pattern still dominated by high pressure. For England, northern France, Belgium, Holland, Denmark and Germany it will be staying fine and dry with good sunny spells once any early fog patches clear. But there is risk of some heavy showers for the south of France and across Switzerland with thunderstorms too. A band of heavy, thundery showers will also be found across eastern Spain and the Balearics with Portugal and western Spain fine and sunny. Just a few showers across Italy with sunny spells while heavy showers will again affect Sicily. Outbreaks of rain will affect Norway, Sweden and Finland. A large area of dry weather will prevail across Poland, The Baltic States, Russia, Belarus, the Ukraine and across the Balkans.
