Summery across the Mediterranean

Today
A hot day across Iberia through Italy and much of eastern Europe. Brisk east winds will be blowing through the Straits of Gibraltar with strong north wind from southern France to west of Sardinia. Patchy rain spreads into Britain today. Showers are expected across northern France with the south dry and sunny. All of Spain and Portugal will be dry, sunny and hot. Rain and showers are expected across northern Germany with the south dry and sunnier. Lots of heavy showers to come today across Norway, Sweden, Finland, The Baltic States, Belarus, western Russia, Poland and the Ukraine. Most of Greece, Turkey and Italy will have a fine, sunny and very warm day. A few showers over the Alps today with a fine day across Austria, the Czech Republic and the former Yugoslavia.



Wednesday
A cloudy day across England with outbreaks of rain and this rain area will extend across Belgium, Holland and northern parts of Germany. Southern parts of Germany and Denmark should stay dry with sunny spells. Apart from a few showers across eastern France, it will be a fine dry, sunny and warm day. A few showers to come across western parts of Norway, otherwise sunny and dry, and a few showers are also expected across parts of Sweden with sunny spells. Much more in the way of heavy showers and thunderstorms are forecast for Russia, Finland, the Baltic States and across into Belarus. Mainly dry across Holland with sunny spells and sunny spells are expected through Austria, the Czech Republic, the former Yugoslavia, Hungary and Romania. Lots of very warm sunshine to come across Greece, Turkey and most of the Ukraine, while a strong north wind will be blowing down through the Aegean Sea. Western parts of Spain and Portugal could just see the odd shower, otherwise dry, mostly sunny and hot.
