Warm south & west, cool north & east
High pressure extends across north-western Europe, whilst low pressure influences Scandinavia, and also the central Mediterranean. A warm easterly pattern across Spain brings plenty of sunshine and temperatures of 25 to 28C in the south-west, perhaps 30C in southern Portugal. Dry across the western Mediterranean, including southern France and northern Italy, highs 17 to 20C, but early fog patches.
High pressure brings dry weather to central Europe. Rain affects the far south of Italy and mainland Greece . Dry but breezy and rather cool around the Aegean and Black Seas, plus much of the Balkans, 10 to 13C. Very warm at 27C for Cyprus.
Sunny and very mild for France, 16 to 21C, warmest south-west. Around 13C in Germany and fairly cloudy. A few showers in northern Germany and Denmark. Blustery winds for southern Scandinavia. A cold front and outbreaks of rain will clear east away from Sweden, but will bring heavy rain to northern Poland and the Baltic states. Showery for Norway and feeling cool, snow over the mountains. Some persistent rain for Finland, drier toward the north.
A lot of dry weather across continental Europe as a large area of high pressure influences many countries, centred over the Low Countries. A gentle easterly flow across Iberia brings warm continental air to western Spain and Portugal, temperatures into the upper 20s Celsius. Lots of sunshine across France and Italy, highs 17 to 21C, warmest in south-west France. Some fog patches in central Europe and the Low Countries.
Thunderstorms over the central Mediterranean may affect Sicily. Dry and fairly cool for south-eastern Europe, but it stays very warm in Cyprus. A cool north-westerly breeze for eastern Europe. Low pressure is centred over Finland and north-west Russia. Fairly cloudy in Germany, and a scattering of showers for Poland, the Ukraine and Baltic states. Blustery winds for Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Showers in northern Norway. Lighter winds and fewer showers in Finland.
