More snow for Russia, Finland
Very windy with gales through the Straits of Gibraltar today. A large part of mainland Europe is going to be settled and dry today with sunny spells. So from Spain across most of France into the Low Countries, Germany, Poland across into the Baltic States and Belarus. It will be dry with sunny spells here with morning fog patches clearing. Fine and dry as well into Spain today and Portugal. For Norway, Sweden and Denmark it should be dry while some rain affects the far north of Scandinavia. Colder across Finland with a few snow flurries. Snow is expected to fall from western parts of down into the Ukraine. Sunny across Romania, the former Yugoslavia and Czech Republic. One or two showers are possible around the western coasts of Greece and Turkey, otherwise dry here with sunny spells. A fine day to come across Italy though the odd shower is possible in the extreme south.
More fine, dry, mild, and mostly sunny weather will extend across France, Belgium, Holland, Denmark and across the United Kingdom today. Expect a fine dry day with sunny spells for Germany. All of Spain will be fair, dry with lots of sunshine. Dry as well across the Balearics and for Italy expect some sunshine but also some scattered showers south of Greece. Mostly sunny and dry today across Greece, Crete, Cyprus and through Turkey into Romania and the Ukraine. An area of heavy snow will stretch from Finland down into Russia and the eastern Ukraine. Rain is forecast across the western Ukraine. Settled and dry weather will prevail from the Baltic States, into Belarus, Poland into the Czech Republic. Most of the former Yugoslavia looks dry apart from the odd light shower. A pleasant dry to come across southern Norway and southern Sweden with sunny spells with rain in the north. Strong gales will persist in the Straits of Gibraltar with gusts to 50 mph. Windy too in the far eastern Mediterranean and across eastern parts of Europe.
