Conditions look likely to become more settled through the coming week. It may be that Monday to Thursday is mainly dry for most areas, although rain returns to the west later. Temperatures are going to be rising too, and we might get a couple of days with temperatures into the mid-20's.
For the weather for the next few days click here
Monday 18/6/12 A ridge of high pressure building across the country through Monday, although low pressure will be just to the west of Ireland. For most of the UK the day is going to be fine and sunny, although there could be some cloud and a few spots of rain in the far southeast at first. Some cloud and showers arriving in southern and western Ireland later. Highs at 14 to 21C.
Tuesday 19/6/12 A slack pressure flow across the country through Tuesday. A centre of high pressure is likely to be to the east of the country and so many places should be dry with good spells of sunshine. Some showers will be developing in the afternoon, although these are likely to be well scattered. Sea breezes forming on the coasts. Highs at 16 to 23C.
Wednesday 20/6/12 High pressure is centred just to the east of Scotland on Wednesday. This brings a more noticeable easterly flow through the UK and Ireland. It should be a fair day with good spells of sunshine, with cloud increasing in the far south of England later. Highs at 18 to 24C.
Thursday 21/6/12 Pressure looks set to be staying mainly high through Thursday. There will be good spells of sunshine across most of the UK. Western parts of Scotland and Ireland may have more in the way of cloud and the chance of some spots of rain here. Highs at 17 to 23C.
Friday 22/6/12 Hints of a front travelling north through Ireland, west Wales and western Scotland on Friday bringing cloud and periods of rain here. Probably more cloud to the east too, although still a few bright spells and probably staying dry. Highs at 17C in western areas, 24C in eastern England.
Saturday 23/6/12 A ridge of high pressure builds back into the south of the country through Saturday. This brings a fine day to much of England and Wales, as well as northeast England. Probably more cloudy in Ireland and Scotland where there could be some outbreaks of rain too. Highs at 23C in southern England, 16C in northwest Scotland.
