Pressure building through the second half of this week. Temperatures will be rising and it is going to be dry too. The fine weather lasting only for a few days before cooler weather then spreads from the west by Sunday.

Thursday 9/8/12
High pressure remains in control through Thursday. This is going to bring a day of sunshine and very warm conditions for many parts of the UK and Ireland. A weakening warm front will bring some cloud in Northern Ireland, Wales and central England, although this will be breaking. Highs at 19 to 28C.

Friday 10/8/12
High pressure will be to the east of the country through Friday. An increasing southeasterly wind across the country. There will be plenty of sunshine and it is going to be dry too. It will be feeling very warm with temperatures at 18 to 28C.


Saturday 11/8/12
Low pressure developing west of Ireland through Saturday. High pressure is still to the east with a southeast flow across the country. A hot day is likely in more eastern parts of England and Scotland with good spells of sunshine. As cooler weather spreads through Ireland and into Wales and western England as well as southwest Scotland showers and thunderstorms will develop, perhaps merging into longer spells of rain. Highs at 29C in eastern England, 17C in the west.

Sunday 12/8/12
Cooler conditions through southern England and Wales on Sunday. There will be some showers here and these could be heavy. The risk of some more persistent rain over Northern Ireland and northern England. Scotland is likely to stay dry with sunny spells. Highs at 17 to 24C.

Monday 13/8/12
Low pressure is west of Scotland on Monday. A south to southwest flow brings plenty of cloud and some periods of rain as fronts pass northwards. Most of the rain will be over southern and central England, this spreading into northern England. Showers for more western areas. Highs at 16 to 23C.

Tuesday 14/8/12
Low pressure is to the west of Ireland again on Tuesday. There will be some showers or longer spells of rain to the west, but more eastern areas will be brighter and drier. Highs at 14 to 24C.
