An unsettled period ahead as the jet stream becomes reestablished over the British Isles and Ireland. This is going to be bringing periods of rain, some of it heavy at times. There is little sign of an prolonged spell of more settled weather.

A shallow are of low pressure is still across southern England on Monday. This would be bringing cloud and periods of rain to southern England, especially the southeast. The rain will be slowly fading into the early afternoon. Elsewhere it will become brighter from the north with sunny spells developing, although much of Scotland, northern England, west wales and Ireland should be sunny all day. Highs at 15C in southern England, 10C in northern Scotland.
A slack pressure flow affects the country through Tuesday. There will- be good spells of sunshine in the morning, but increasing cloud over southwest England and southern Ireland will be bringing showers, eventually turning into rain here. For the rest of England and Scotland as well as Northern Ireland some showers will be developing, these heavy at times. Highs at 20C in the sunshine more generally 10C in northern Scotland.
An area of low pressure may cross the south of the country on Wednesday. Confidence in the forecast is lower, but if the low does cross where it is expected too a period of rain is then likely through southern England, Wales and Ireland. Drier and brighter to the north with some sunny spells here, just a few showers in eastern Scotland. Highs at 20C in southwest England, 10C in northern Scotland.
Low pressure across the north and west of the country through Thursday will likely bring plenty of cloud to these areas and some spots of rain too. Further south it should be drier with some sunny spells, although showers and rain could affecting southwestern areas. Highs at 22C in southeast England, 10C in northern Scotland.
A developing area of low pressure may cover most of the country through Friday. This brings cloud and rain with it, mostly across Scotland, Ireland and northern England. More southern areas should be drier with some showers, these heavy at times. Highs at 10 to 19C.
An unsettled day is on the cards. Low pressure dominates bringing plenty of cloud and rain across the country. The rain could become heavy at times, and it is likely to be windy in places too. Highs at 11 to 19C.
