Lots of showers to come across the country this morning and these look to be quite heavy across Scotland and Northern Ireland. In the afternoon it's looking mainly dry and mostly sunny across East Anglia, the Midlands and south eastern parts of England. Further showers are expected across the rest of the country and again, these heavy across Scotland. A day with high temperatures of 19 to 25 Celsius north to south.
In the evening , further scattered showers are expected across Scotland, down through north west England, Wales and southwest England with the rest of the country fair and dry. Overnight. Still some shower activity may linger across Wales and south western parts of England. Elsewhere it will be dry with some mist and low cloud developing and it will be a warm night with minimum temperatures of 13 to 17 Celsius expected.
Increasingly windy with gales developing in the south west today. An area of heavy rain moves into southern England and Wales this morning then sweeps north into most parts of the United Kingdom in the afternoon. This clears Wales and central and southern parts of England by evening and will linger across northern Scotland overnight with showers into the west. Strong gales may affect the south western coasts of England with gusts to 60 mph possible. Expect high temperatures today of 20 to 26 Celsius.
For most parts of the United Kingdom it's going to be a day of sunny spells and scattered showers and some of these will be heavy. It does look as though showers will have faded from Lincolnshire, East Anglia, central and eastern parts of the Midlands and down through south eastern parts of England as some rain reaches Cornwall by the end of the afternoon. That area of rain in southwest turns heavy as it spreads north into most of England in the evening with all parts of the country, including Scotland having a wet night.
