A bright and breezy morning for many with some good spells of sunshine, especially in the east and south. More western and northern arts are going to be breezier with some showers, and these showers could be heavy at times. The showers tending to move eastwards through the morning and into the afternoon, perhaps with the odd crack of thunder too. The showers tending to turn more isolated into the mid to late afternoon, although they remain heavy and more persistent in western Ireland. Winds increasing across Ireland and western Scotland later with a risk of gales. Highs at 16 to 22C
Further showers across Scotland, western England and Wales as well as Ireland this evening and for much of the night. Showers fading in the east and south although there will still be an odd one one around. Turning breezier for all. Lows near 8 to 12C.
Low pressure is to the west of Scotland on Friday. This brings frequent showers or longer spells of rain to western Scotland, with showers across Ireland and northwest England. Brighter elsewhere with sunny spells although a few showers could occur just about anywhere. During the afternoon a shallow area of low pressure passes into southern Ireland bringing further rain here, this spreading to Wales, southern and central England later. However, there is much uncertainty in the timing of this rain. A breezy day with highs at 16 to 23C.
