Becoming more wintry
Staying unsettled, colder

Friday
A breezy day and quite windy in the morning along the channel coasts. It's basically a two way split today. Western parts of Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland will be having a day of sunshine, cloud and showers, some of which will be on the heavy side. Some showers too may affect the channel coasts. Central and eastern areas are going to be staying dry with some decent spells of sunshine. A chilly day with highs of 5 to 10C.

Friday Night
More locally heavy showers are forecast around western coasts of the United Kingdom this evening but for most inland and eastern areas it will be a dry, clear and cold evening. Overnight outbreaks of heavy rain sweep up into central and southern England and Wales. Dry to the north with a frost across Scotland. Lows of 0 to 7C north to south.

Saturday
A cloudy morning across England and Wales with some outbreaks of rain. In the afternoon much of this tends to fade away but we keep a lot of cloud. A largely dry day to come across Northern Ireland and Scotland with sunny spells after a frosty start to the day. Heavy rain in the south this evening spreads north into all but northern Scotland in the night with a risk of some sleet over the high ground of the Pennines and Snowdonia. Highs of 4 to 11C.

Sunday
Rain lingers across Wales, south west and northern England all day and as it moves into colder air it may turn to snow over the high ground of Scotland. Quite a windy day across northern Britain with winds touching gale force making it feel really cold. Very windy this evening and tonight with snow likely for northern Scotland. More rain to come in the west and across northern England. Largely a dry night for East Anglia and the south east. Look for highs of 4 to 9C.
