Saturday Heavy rain and strong winds spreading through Ireland and into northwest England, western Scotland, Wales and southwest England in the morning. Eastern areas start dry, but it will not be long before the rain spills eastwards. Most of the country, except East Anglia wet through the afternoon, the rain reaching here by dark. Drier weather will be arriving through Ireland and into western Scotland and western Wales as well as the far southwest by dark. Winds will be reaching 50 to 60mph in the west and highs will be around 11 to 14C.
Saturday Night Heavy rain across eastern England through this evening, this somewhat reluctant to clear from the southeast until late evening. Strong winds then follow and it is drier for a time. However, heavy showers will be merging to longer spells of rain in the west and then spreading inland overnight. The winds will be increasing too with gales in western Wales, western Ireland and the west of Scotland. Lows near 6 to 9C.
Sunday A very windy day is on the cards. The winds strongest in the west at first, but then transferring eastwards across the whole country through the day. Gusts could reach 80mph in exposed parts of the west and even gusting to 60mph inland. There will be some blustery showers around, these merging to longer spells of rain in the west, and becoming heavy over western Scotland, northern England, Northern Ireland and western Wales. A cooler day at 8 to 11C.
Monday A very windy day once again. There will be severe gales in the south, and this time it is Channel coasts which look likely to be seeing the strongest of the winds, those to severe gale force. There will be rain crossing southern parts of England and southern Wales. More rain sweeping eastwards through Scotland. Elsewhere variable cloud, windy, cool and with some blustery showers. Highs at 6C in northern Scotland, 12C along southern coasts of England.
