A cold start to this morning. There will be some scattered showers across Scotland, an odd one heavy on northern coasts. Elsewhere the day is likely to be mainly dry with some good spells of sunshine, although there could be a few showers affecting the coasts and hills of northwest England. Thicker cloud moving into western Ireland later as a warm front approaches and this is probably going to be bringing some rain by the evening. Highs near 11 to 18C.
Clear skies at first tonight and dry too across much of eastern Scotland and central and eastern parts of England. INcreasing cloud through Irelabnd bringing some spots of rain here. This rain and cloud spreads to western and southern Scotland, nortwhest England, Wales and much of Ireland through the night with mist and fog patches on western coasts. It shuold stay dry across central and southern England. Lows at 3 to 8C.
High pressure dominates through Thursdday, being centred over central Europe. A wearm front extends through Ireland and into northern England. This brings lots of cloud and some spells of rain and drizzle across Ireland, northern England and southern Scotland, with some of this heavy over southwest Scotland. Some low cloud and spots of drizzle affecting western Wales and the coasts of southwest England. More southern parts of the country will have more cloud, but should be generally dry. The best sunshine today is across the northern third of Scotland where it should be dry too. Highs at 11 to 18C.
High pressure centred west of Scotland on Friday. This brings lots of sunshine through Scotland and Northern Ireland as well as the far north of northern England. A cold front from Wales to East Anglia brings cloudier conditions across the southern half of England and Wales with some outbreaks of rain. The rain in the south should slowly fade into the afternoon. Highs near 10 to 15C for most of the country, 17C in the far south.
