A sunnier day
Rain in northwest

Monday
Some residual cloud left in the far south of England this morning, but across much of the rest of England and Wales as well as eastern Scotland it will be a bright start to the day with good spells of sunshine. The sunshine extends south into this afternoon, although bits and pieces of cloud will be floating around. Thicker cloud in the north and west of Scotland and Ireland bringing some outbreaks of rain here and becoming windy too. Highs around 25C in London, 19C in Glasgow.


Monday Night
mainly clear skies across most of England and Wales overnight. These allow temperatures to drop to a cool 7C in some rural areas with some mist forming by morning across centra, eastern and southern England. A front moving through Scotland and Ireland bringing more cloud and some showery spots of rain here, although showers follow onto western coasts after midnight. Cloud increases across northwest Wales and northwest Englanjd in the early hours as the front approaches, bringing outbreaks of rain by morning. Gales for north and west Scotland. Lows more typically 9 to 10C.


Tuesday
A cold front will be through England and Wales on Tuesday, weakening as it edges south. The front brings a fairly cloudy morning across northern England and Wales with some spots of showery rain. These edge south into the Midlands, East Anglia and southwest England by early afternoon, but the front by then will be very weak and little more than an area of cloud. This cloud arriving in the southeast and along southern coasts by mid to late afternoon. Much brighter weather with good spells of sunshine follows behind the front. There will be some showers in northern and western Scotland where it will be windy too. Highs near 24C in the southeast, 15C in northern Scotland.


Wednesday
An area of high pressure is expected to become centred over Ireland by midday on Wednesday. This is going to be bringing much fine weather with good spells of sunshine to most of the UK and Ireland. A misty and chill start to the day over Wales, central and northern England. There could be some residual cloud in the far southeast at first, but this will be clearing. Cloud also affecting the far north of Scotland with some drizzle at first here. Highs near a 15C in northern Scotland and a cooler 21C in southern England.
