Rain in south
Drier to north

Wednesday
This morning brings rain across southern Ireland and southwest England as well as southern Wales. The rain turns more persistent as the morning progresses, and there could be some sleet over the tops of the Moors and hills. Drier and brighter elsewhere, although a line of showers extending through Northern ireland and into northwest England. A further area of showers, some wintry continue in northern Scotland. This afternoon sees further cloud and rain over much of Ireland, Wales, central and southern England. The most persistent over the hills and along southern coasts and hills. Scattered showers for northern England and Scotland, but dry for most with bright spells. Staying cloudy and wet in the far north of Scotland, breezy here too. Highs at 6C in northern Scotland, becoming 11C in southwest England.


Wednesday Night
Becoming windy and wet over all parts of England, Wales and most of Ireland tonight. Gales may affect coasts and hills. The rain turning to snow over high ground of Wales and northern England. Breezy and damp in northern Scotland too with snow on the hills. Drier in southern Scotland with a touch of frost here. Becoming drier, although probably staying cloudy in the far south of England and Wales. Lows at -4C in central Scotland, 4C in southern England.


Thursday
Low pressure will be bringing a moist, southwest flow to all areas on Thursday. Rain affects much of England and Wales during the day, some of it heavy on hills. Patchier rain and drizzle in the far southeast of England and breezy here too. Mild in much of England and Wales. Further north it is going to be drier and brighter with sunny spells. Showers, some heavy, in northern and western Scotland as well as around the coasts of Ireland. These showers will be wintry on hills. Highs at 10C in southern England, 7C across much of northern England, Scotland and Ireland.


Friday
A deepening area of low pressure is expected to be to the southwest of England on Friday. This is going to be bringing cloud and rain to much of southern Ireland, southern England and Wales, breezy here too. Drier in most of northern England, Northern Ireland and much of Scotland with a few bright spells. Showers, some wintry across northern and western Scotland. Temperatures at 7 to 10C.
