Rain and showers
Gales in west

Sunday
Some eastern parts of England and Wales may manage to stay dry and bright this morning. Elsewhere it's a rather cloudy day with heavy showers but longer spells of rain are expected across southern England in the morning and across Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and northern England in the afternoon. It becomes increasingly windy as well with gales and gusts of 60-70 mph developing across western areas through the day. A chillier day today with highs of 8 to 16C.

Sunday Night
Strong gales this evening will spread inland overnight with gusts to 80 mph around some exposed western coasts and gusts to 60 mph inland. Mostly cloudy through the evening and night with sporadic outbreaks of rain and drizzle across much of Britain. Much of the rain should be light but some heavier bursts are possible across Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Lows of 5 to 10C.

Monday
Another windy day across many areas and outbreaks of rain across south Wales and the south of England should clear this morning. Eastern parts of Scotland should be dry with sunny spells but lots of heavy showers are expected in the west and across Northern Ireland and northern England. In the afternoon expect a mix of cloud, sunnier spells and showers though fewer showers will be found in the east. Rain spreads into south west England and Wales in the evening before turning heavy as it pushes into all but northern Scotland in the night. Expect highs of 9 to 14C.

Tuesday
It remains very windy with gales in the west. Most places look wet for much of the day and this rain will be heavy across Wales, north west England and southern western Scotland along with parts of Northern Ireland. Across eastern and southern England the rain looks light and patchy in nature. Heavy rain across Britain sweeps away from all parts through the evening with plenty of showers coming in behind the rain overnight. These may turn wintry across the Scottish Highlands. Highs of 10 to 14C.
