Mainly dry with sunny spells developing, but then cloud and rain in Ieland

A front is weakening over the country this morning bringing cloud and some showery spots of rain to northern England, Wales and the Midlands. This soon fades and then all areas are going to be dry. The cloud breaking further with some sunny spells coming through.

This afternoon tends to see cloud increasing in the west with rain in Ireland becoming steadier. The breeze picking up in Ireland as well. Most western areas of the UK become cloudier although the east is likely to be dry and bright for most of the day. A very mild day in any sunshine, especially in England and Wales.

Tonight becomes wetter for most as fronts edge eastwards. Most rain in Ireland and Scotland but some squally rain arriving in western England and Wales in the early hours. This rai band then arriving in the Midlands and southern England byr morning with heavy showers merging to longer spells of rain in western Scotland. A breezier night too.
