Another hot day in southern areas, but cloudier and fresher north & west

Good morning, It's been a few hot days over the south of the country and this hot weather looks set to continue through today. Plenty of sunshine again through southern parts of England, and probably fair across central areas too.

An old front extends through Ireland and southern Scotland. There will be plenty of cloud here, but also the chance of some patchy rain. The rain could be heavy over southern parts of Scotland. Central and northern Scotland should be dry and bright with sunny spells, although fresher here.

More persistent showers moving into western Scotland later in the evening and overnight tonight, as a few showers break out through the Midlands.
