Staying wet & windy
Good morning one and all and I hope your day has started well.
Heavy spells of rain are forecast for Scotland, Northern Ireland and north west England during the course of the day with rain too for western Wales. The rest of England should be essentially dry with a good deal of cloud and some brighter spells coming through in the afternoon. Winds will become strong with gale to severe gales developing around western coasts later in the afternoon. Mild with highs of 10 to 15C.
This evening we will see heavy rain lingering in the north and west then overnight this rain spreads east into all of Wales, northern and south west England with a risk of local flooding. Gusts to 80 mph will affect some western coasts but another mild night to come with lows around 10 to 13C.
If your heading abroad the weather is looking unsettled across Europe but fine and warmest across southern Spain.
