Sunshine and heavy showers passing east, drier in the afternoon for many, breezy for all

Good morning,

A breezy day across the UK and Ireland with low pressure west of the country. There will be heavy showers in western Scotland, Ireland and western England. Eastern areas will be starting brighter and drier with sunny spells.
 


The area of showers will be passing eastwards through the morning and into the early afternoon. A few may be thundery. The showers tending to ease into the late afternoon and evening although always a few scattered showers remaining in the west.


More persistent showers or outbreaks of rain reaching western Ireland in the evening and western Scotland early in the night. Winds will be reaching gale force here too.
