Matt: Low cloud continues to clear away from NW England and much of the British Isles, with the exception of a few showers across Scotland, is dry with some prolonged spells of sunshine. Very warm in the sunshine in the SE, elsewhere not as warm as Thursday, but still warm enough!

Matt: Dry start across many areas this morning with sunny spells too. Some cloudy and grey weather though across parts of SW Scotland, NW England, Wales, Midlands and SW England where it is a rather cool start, mild elsewhere in the sunshine.

Matt: Fine weather continues this evening and overnight across many areas with some patchy mist and fog in places. A chilly night across Scotland and Ireland in particular, but still a very mild night across most of England and Wales.

Matt: Temperatures continue to rise and it is very warm indeed, if not rather hot in some areas, especially for the time of year. Temperatures have now reached 27.0C at Heathrow and also in a number of other locations including; Norwich Weather Centre, Luton Airport, and even at Doncaster Airport too.

Simon: It's one of those getting better days. Already the sun is shining and it's feeling warming in southeastern parts of the UK. That sunshine slowly pushing north through the day, although always a tendency towards more cloud in the north and west.

A frost in some places but rain and light hills snow in northern and eastern England as well as northern Scotland.. rain is already to the southwest and this will be moving into Ireland, southwest England and southern Wales during the day, turning heavy. The rain falling as snow over the hills.
