Garry: Sunshine mostly confined to the south-west this afternoon, glimmers of sun elsewhere. Patchy rain or drizzle in the east.

Garry: An uninspiring start to Monday morning for many. Grey skies, rain and drizzle. Brighter in the far west.

Matt: Rain and drizzle becoming slow moving down the spine of the British Isles tonight, particularly damp across Scotland, N England, Midlands and into S England too. A mild night, but chilly across Ireland with fog patches.

Matt: Patchy rain continues to dominate across parts of Scotland, W Wales and SW England. Ahead of this though, across much of England it is dry with some spells of sunshine, especially across E England. Temperatures recently 20C already at London City and Heathrow Airports.

John: quite a mild start to the day across southern Britain. Here patchy rain should fade with most parts of Britain to have a dry day.

Simon: Rain becomes fragmented this evening as it passes east. Cloudy Saturday morning, a few spots of drizzle or light rain in the south but becoming brighter and drier through the day.

Simon: The rain band is becoming more fragmented as it heads east across Scotland, northern England, wales, southwest England and the Midlands this afternoon.

Simon: Rain in Ireland now, slowly spreading east this morning, reaching much of western Scotland, NW England, Wales and SW England by lunchtime. Then crossing eastern Scotland, northern England, the Midlands and southern England this afternoon., although only light by then.

Matt: Rain clears east this evening and a ridge of high pressure builds in. The result is a mainly dry night with clear spells, and it'll sure turn chilly! Temps around 3C or 4C in rural areas of the north, so jackets and coats essential items if out of the door first thing on Friday morning.

Matt: Wet weather continues to slowly move eastwards today, but still with some sunshine and warmth ahead of the wet weather. A clearance to cooler and fresher weather is following the rain and this heralds a chilly night tonight. More on that later...

Simon: Rain in the north and west this morning is edging it's way slowly east. A few heavy bursts associated with the rain band.

Matt: It's a wet night ahead across much of Scotland, Ireland, N England, Wales and SW England with rain and drizzle at times. Some extensive low cloud and hill fog perhaps accompanying the wet weather too. Drier though across SE England and a mild night for all areas.

Matt: Since midnight 15mm of rain has been observed at Sherkin, in Ireland, along with 13mm at Cork and Gurteen. In contrast with sunny spells and temperature of 19C at Blackpool and even Inverness!

Simon: Showers are going to be a problem again for some today, mostly in the east and southeast where there could be heavy. Some affecting western areas of England and Wales too, but if you can avoid them the day will be dry with sunny spells.

Matt: Heavy showers, especially across eastern areas of England slowly clearing and many areas having a dry night with clear spells. Chilly, especially rurally, with local mist and fog patches, ground frost too, Scotland, Ireland and parts of N England.

Simon: Cool again for today with sunshine and showers. A band of more coherent showers currently passing south through northern England, Wales and southwest England. A further area of heavier showers also affecting northeast Scotland.
