Garry: An uninspiring start to Monday morning for many. Grey skies, rain and drizzle. Brighter in the far west.

Matt: Rain and drizzle becoming slow moving down the spine of the British Isles tonight, particularly damp across Scotland, N England, Midlands and into S England too. A mild night, but chilly across Ireland with fog patches.

Matt: Patchy rain continues to dominate across parts of Scotland, W Wales and SW England. Ahead of this though, across much of England it is dry with some spells of sunshine, especially across E England. Temperatures recently 20C already at London City and Heathrow Airports.

John: an area of rain across western Scotland will intensify through the day.

John: quite a mild start to the day across southern Britain. Here patchy rain should fade with most parts of Britain to have a dry day.

Simon: Rain becomes fragmented this evening as it passes east. Cloudy Saturday morning, a few spots of drizzle or light rain in the south but becoming brighter and drier through the day.

Simon: The rain band is becoming more fragmented as it heads east across Scotland, northern England, wales, southwest England and the Midlands this afternoon.

Simon: Rain in Ireland now, slowly spreading east this morning, reaching much of western Scotland, NW England, Wales and SW England by lunchtime. Then crossing eastern Scotland, northern England, the Midlands and southern England this afternoon., although only light by then.

Matt: Rain clears east this evening and a ridge of high pressure builds in. The result is a mainly dry night with clear spells, and it'll sure turn chilly! Temps around 3C or 4C in rural areas of the north, so jackets and coats essential items if out of the door first thing on Friday morning.

Matt: Wet weather continues to slowly move eastwards today, but still with some sunshine and warmth ahead of the wet weather. A clearance to cooler and fresher weather is following the rain and this heralds a chilly night tonight. More on that later...
