Matt: Wet weather continues to slowly move eastwards today, but still with some sunshine and warmth ahead of the wet weather. A clearance to cooler and fresher weather is following the rain and this heralds a chilly night tonight. More on that later...

Simon: Rain in the north and west this morning is edging it's way slowly east. A few heavy bursts associated with the rain band.

Matt: It's a wet night ahead across much of Scotland, Ireland, N England, Wales and SW England with rain and drizzle at times. Some extensive low cloud and hill fog perhaps accompanying the wet weather too. Drier though across SE England and a mild night for all areas.

Matt: Since midnight 15mm of rain has been observed at Sherkin, in Ireland, along with 13mm at Cork and Gurteen. In contrast with sunny spells and temperature of 19C at Blackpool and even Inverness!

Matt: Wet weather continues to develop across Ireland and W Scotland while much of England and Wales is predominantly dry with some bright or sunny spells. Patchy rain and drizzle will, however, move into western areas of England and Wales through the afternoon.

Simon: Rain and cloud in the west today, but drier and brighter to the east.

Simon: Increased cloud in the west this evening and spots of rain arrive in western Ireland. Drier with some clearer skies to the east.

Simon: Fair afternoon for many with sunny spells. Increasing cloud in Ireland though .

Simon: It's a chilly and misty start out there, but Tuesday should be a better day for many with dry conditions and sunny spells.

Simon: More heavy showers this evening, merging to longer spells of rain in northern England and parts of the Midlands.

Simon: More showers to come this afternoon in England, Wales together with eastern and northern Scotland. Drier to the west. get set for a cold one tonight!

Simon: Showers are going to be a problem again for some today, mostly in the east and southeast where there could be heavy. Some affecting western areas of England and Wales too, but if you can avoid them the day will be dry with sunny spells.

Matt: Heavy showers, especially across eastern areas of England slowly clearing and many areas having a dry night with clear spells. Chilly, especially rurally, with local mist and fog patches, ground frost too, Scotland, Ireland and parts of N England.

Matt: Developing heavy showers now in evidence across parts of Yorkshire, down into Lincolnshire and also across E Anglia. Many northern and western areas of the British Isles enjoying dry weather with bright or sunny spells.

John: a rash of showers have moved into eastern parts of Britain and into the Greater Manchester area.
